Happy Odyssey Summer to all who celebrate 🏛️🏺 I’m going to see The Odyssey later tonight and I’m so so excited. Should I buy the popcorn buckets? 👀 #theodyssey #greekmythology #beachread
How was your Q2? I’ve finally gotten out of my reading slump and it’s been wonderful being able to enjoy books again. I’ve been in a crochet frenzy lately and that’s been so much fun. I don’t have any pictures but I’ve also been taking Spanish classes again and going to language exchange meet ups to practice 😁 @booknetfest was definitely one of the biggest highlights of these last three months and I’m counting down the days till next year 🫶🏾 The World Cup has taken up so much of my summer and these Panini stickers may cause my financial ruin if I can’t get an exchange going soon 🥲 #hobbies #crochet #reading #memorykeeping #worldcup2026
Every purchase made through @bookshop_org supports independent bookstores and here are just a few of the books you should be picking up TODAY through @bookshop_org ! #ad #independentbookstores #readersofinstagram
Today is the 4 of July, a complicated day for many of us but more importantly: Haymitch Abernathy’s birthday 🎂 Thank you @harpercollins for sending me these classics. If you saw my video last month with the tote bag and mug (that I’ve been using every day) then this is basically a part two to that #bookhaul #classicbooks
What are you looking forward to most for July? The World Cup has consumed my life (as it does every four years) and I’m looking forward to seeing all these African and Latin American nations leading this year. It’s truly been the most shocking tournament I’ve witnessed in so many of the best ways ⚽️🥅🏟️ Summer is always slow for publishing but there are still so many great books coming out this month so make sure to put those library orders in and look for these on your bookstore runs 📚 And before I forget, the Children of Diaspora book club is reading Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar for July so if you haven’t joined yet, now is the time ☺️ #newreleasetuesday #newbookalert #bookstagram
Black ☑️ Southern ☑️ Gothic ☑️ Thank you @bindery_books and @mynameismarines for this wonderful book box of Our Sister’s Keeper by @jasminelholmes 📖
Have you read books by any of these authors? Here’s my take on today’s @readcaribbean challenge of 8 islands to read from. I tried to give a good mix of well established and more modern authors, as well as genres. Y’all already know I’m a huge Edwidge Danticat fan but I’ve also read at least one book from each of these authors. I just finished Hurricane Child by Kacen Callender last week and I’m currently reading When Life Gives You Mangoes by Kereen Getten I’m going to have a more detailed look at these authors up on my Bindery later this week so y’all know where to find that 👀 #readcaribbean #caribbeanheritagemonth #queerbooks #caribbeanbooks #readinglist
